[Fitness] Benefits of practising yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️

Yoga is an old discipline from India. It’s essentially a spiritual discipline focus on bringing harmony between the mind and the body. How? By using breathing techniques, exercise and meditation.


I discover this practise during lockdown, thanks to Mathilde, @zensation_bymath ,I fell in love with the process. If I learned one thing by practising regularly is this:


Let go of any expectation and quiet your ego, "I should be able to touch my toes already..." Or “ I should be able to do the posture like the others..” Try to focus on the core of what you're doing and not comparing yourself with others.





If you are not yet convinced of the benefits of starting yoga, here are 3 reason why you should give it a go;


  • Yoga improves strength, flexibility and balance

There are specific poses in yoga that are designed to improve strength and build muscle. The method is slow movements and deep breathing while holding a pose.



  • Yoga relaxes you and helps you sleep better.

This practice calms your mind and relax your body, practising after a long day at work will definitely help you to sleep better.


  • Yoga helps to improve health and happiness.

It is known for its ability to ease stress and notably improved quality of life.

You may feel a difference mentally and physically, a boost of energy and enthusiasm after getting into a routine of practicing yoga.
